Rajani Thiranagama (1954-1989)
Sri Lankan Tamil mother, writer, organiser, doctor and teacher. 
She, along with other members of the University Teachers for Human Rights, Jaffna fearlessly bore witness, documented and assisted survivors during the conflict between the Sri Lankan government and the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam before her assassination in 1989.
Her documentation of the atrocities, resistance and outcomes she witnessed was published as The Broken Palmyra and is available, in large part, online.
